Norwich Medics Ladies

Norwich Medics Ladies
Originally uploaded by MedicsRugby.

Well done to the Norwich Medics Ladies for an excellent performance on Wednesday at the RSM Sevens. They won two of their group matches to progress to the semi-final. An exceptional achievement, given the number of ladies making their rugby debuts.

The gents found themselves in a particularly tight group, including Imperials who went on to win the tournament.

Thanks to those who organised the day - Will and Jamie, and Jamie and Marie for driving. In addition, thanks to Alan Brown for his efforts in coaching the ladies squad. Better luck next year for the gents, who campaigned vailiantly against strong opposition.

Norwich Medics RFC 57 - Broadland RFC 15

An excellent performance today from the Norwich Medics RFC resulted
in an impressive 57 - 15 win over Broadland RFC. A man of the match
performance at fly-half from 2nd year medic Chris Hurrell guided the
team towards our best result in the history of the club. All players
put in 100% throughout the match, with several players crossing for
more than one try.

Pictures to follow when I get them!

Well played lads, and thanks again to the supporters who came all the way to Yarmouth to watch us.

Norwich Medics 12, Crusaders Rugby 12

Honours even between the Medics and our hosts, Crusaders RFC, at Little Melton yesterday, with both sides scoring one converted and one unconverted try. Medics tries both came from the second-row, with Fagan and Will Brown crossing each side of half time. Well done gents.

Pics below, and match report, (hopefully) to follow:

Pics from the George's match

Thanks this week to Tilly for her pictures of our match against St George's Med School.

Congratulations to the club captain, Martin Falkingham, on successfully passing his coaching course. No messing around on a Thursday night now, with our two coaches.

Last weeks pictures were taken by Kat. Thanks to her also.

Norwich Medics record their first victory.......

Norwich Medics ran out 21 - 7 victors in a match against Holt 3rd XV this afternoon, at Holt's very pleasant ground just outside the town.

Tries from John, Rumbles and Martin 'The Legend' Falkingham were all converted by Mr Rumbles and his magic boots. For this service, he was made man-of-the-match

A proper match report and pics to follow.  Thanks to all at Holt for a hard-fought game, and excellent hospitality.

Merchandise

Many thanks to all who ordered merchandise before Christmas. Cartman-the-treasurer and I hope to collect the garments in the next couple of days. Thanks for your patients given the delays caused by Christmas. All things being equal, the first game of 2006, away to Holt, should see the medics running out in our own kit for the first time. A proud moment...

We are in negotiation with our merchandiser to expand the range of items available for purchase. Details of likely items and provisional prices are available on the main site under the merchandise link on the sidebar.

Looking forward to seeing you at training tonight,

Your Chair.

Norwich Medics Christmas Curry and Beer Night

Norwich Medics Christmas Party took place on 9 December, at Crusaders RFC. A delicious curry and several 'lemonades' were enjoyed by all assembled. Special thanks to Fixtures Boy for organising the food, Crusaders for the venue and staffing, Prop Hendrick for a generous gift of several bottles of Port and all who attended for contributing to a great evening.
